Video Premiere: Hot Chelle Rae "Hung Up"

The Nashville-formed pop band Hot Chelle Rae is gearing up for the release of their third studio record, which is expected to drop later this year. The lead single "Hung Up" hit radio back in February and has been working it's way into the ears of their fans ever since.  The boys have traveled all over the globe, opening for acts like Taylor Swift, Cher Lloyd and Lil' Jon and seem poised for global domination. If the new single is any indication, the boys new record will follow the lead of their hits "I Like It Like That" and their smash hit "Tonight, Tonight" with catchy, sing-a-long choruses.

The video for the catchy track -- filled with tongue-in-cheek lyrics -- dropped today. Watch it now below and pick up the single on iTunes.

What The GIF? Vol. 3

Yep, it's that time again. If you're not as obsessed with the GIF sitch as me, then you might be thinking...
And that's okay with me, but seriously What the GIF? How could you not love this week's biggest headlines told by some high-larious GIFs? Let's see if I can win you over with this week's Top 10 -- sometimes over exaggerated -- headlines.

#10 - Even Nicki Minaj's unusual antics can't save American Idol's ratings as they hit a series low.

#9 - Demi Lovato will return to judges panel for Season 3 of The X Factor, but without Britney will it be the same?

#8 - Spring Breakers with Selena Gomez & Vanessa Hudgens hits theaters and has VERY mixed reviews. Raise your hand if you liked it...

#7 - Ke$ha to drink her own urine in new MTV reality series, doesn't give a fu¢k!

#6 - The Voice kicked off its fourth season with Usher & Shakira. Is anyone still watching?

#5 - Lindsay Lohan blames Coachella for not wanting to enter rehab, practices next mugshot in anticipation.

#4 - Rihanna and Chris Brown spilt... again. Who cares?

#3 - Justin Bieber to show his controversial few months in second feature film. Parents outraged by R rating (okay not really, but that'd be amazeballs).

#2 - Taylor Swift goes weeks without mention of a new boyfriend, label panics!

#1 - Justin Timberlake's The 20/20 Experience sells nearly 1 million records its first week, proving consumers still will buy good music when properly (or over) promoted.

And there you have it, the week's most talked about headlines. If you want the news delivered straight to your feed, -- no sexual innuendoes here... unless you're offering --  follow me on Twitter for the daily news that'll have you thinking "WTF" and check back next week for more W-T-GIF. And if you're not a fan, than I only have one thing left to say to you:

Lana Del Rey Covers Leonard Cohen

It's no secret that my heart beats to Lana Del Rey's drum (as illustrated by the variety of ways I tried to slip her name into a post over the last year). Today, she delivers a new video covering the Leonard Cohen classic "Chelsea Hotel No. 2" and proves that when it comes to singing, she can do anything.

There's nothing really more for me to say, other than thank you for this Lana! V for Vetrano needed this today. Watch the simple, yet beautiful video below.

Video Premiere: All Time Low "Somewhere In Neverland"

American punk rockers All Time Low dropped their new video for the single "Somewhere in Neverland" today on MTV. Although the channel no longer plays music videos on the reg, this clip is reminiscent of the TRL days (for those too young to know what that is, it's a good thing). The single is from their album Don't Panic, which is available now. The band, currently back from a worldwide tour, are taking a short break before they head back on the road with Pierce the Veil for a run of U.S. dates.

Artist to Watch: Sol Cat

Would you believe me if I told you there was a new band with a cool sound that was worthy of your ears coming out of Nashville? Of course you would. And not only because Nashville was recently named the #1 music scene by Rolling Stone magazine. It's no surprise considering the amount of talent oozing from this great city, so without further ado let me introduce to you to Music City's latest noteworthy act Sol Cat.

I got to sit down with a couple of the guys from the emerging rock band a few weeks ago to talk about their new album, new video (seen below) and where their name came from. We met at a coffee in shop in East Nashville and, although the two guys showed up over an hour late and reeked of their wild night, it was clear that the their groovy rock music style is quite authentic to their laid back lifestyles.

As the guys were coming to from their hangover haze that morning, I did manage to find out that the name Sol Cat really has no meaning. In fact, it was overheard at a casino table by the band's frontman Brett Hammann while on vacation. Although it didn't have any significance then, the name stuck.

As you can see from the "riveting" story told, there's really not much to reveal about this indie rock band. So rather than go on and on about why these dudes have the spotlight on them, it's best to let the music do the story-telling. The first single from their self-titled record, out now, is a catchy groove-inspired track called "Dirty Glasses," which is capturing the attention of their growing fan base and Nashville's music-lovers.

Watch the video for the track below and if you like what you hear go pick up the band's full length album on iTunes now.

First Listen: Beyonce "Bow Down/ I Been On"

2013 is certainly shaping up to be a big one in music with new records coming from some of the biggest pop stars on the planet. Beyoncé, one of said stars, has been busy since her hot-as-fire Super Bowl performance and (boring) HBO documentary. Girl (Who Run the World) has been preparing for her new record and huge world tour.

Today, the first single from the upcoming album, set to accompany the Mrs. Carter world tour, dropped. Fans seem to be on the fence about the track, as they took to Twitter to share their opinions. Listen to "Bow Down / I Been On" below now and share your thoughts. Is this St. Patrick's Day treat magically delicious?

What the GIF? Vol. 2

The first time was so fun, I just couldn't resist making 'What The GIF?' a regular Tragic Kingdom occurrence. So pop your lock, pull up a seat and let's countdown this week's music headlines in the latest installment of V for Vetrano's 'What the GIF?'

#2 - Beyonce Debuts New Single "Bow Down /I Been On

Bonus: I didn't really get the whole 'Vine' thing at first. It typically just stressed me out and I ended up giving up on the process. Except this weekend, me and my friends struck gold! It was after a few hours sitting on a Nashville patio that I learned Cassadee Pope had a talent that reached far beyond just her 'Voice'. Check out our Vine masterpiece. Lorne Michaels,  we're waiting for your call.

Justin Timberlake's 'The 20/20 Experience'

It's been half a decade since Justin Timberlake's futuristic, critically acclaimed record Future Sex/Love Sounds landed the singer a place in music history. Before the sophomore record from the one-time lead heartthrob of one of the biggest boybands in the world 'N SYNC, Timberlake was working to shed his cheesy boyband days and striving to be seen as an artist who, with the combination of two words ("SexyBack"), could change the face of the music scene.

It was no surprise that when Timberlake put music on hold to focus on other ventures - acting, managing his own record label and getting married to actress Jessica Biel - the music world felt void of those futuristic, love sounds we'd typically see other artists crank out one after another. Somehow though, the artist commonly now known simply as "JT" had managed to prove that if the music is on point, fans will stick around (or come back, rather).

On the entertainers new record The 20/20 Experience, fans will find a more subdued, relaxed version of the hitmaker. Although the main components from the last record are there, including the collaboration with Timbaland, the record is almost completely unique and more complicated than anything the singer's done before. Which is likely exactly how he intended.

Critically the album is masterfully put together. In an industry where artists are pressured to deliver singles, rather than albums, The 20/20 Experience is a full concept that comes alive on tracks that often venture beyond the 7 minute mark. And though fans of hits like "SexyBack," "Rock Your Body" and "Señorita" may be initially disappointed, it's inevitable that this one-of-a-kind album will find it's place in musical history.

Listen! It's Vetrano!: What the GIF?

I have a confession. I've been a little behind with letting you in on some of my favorite new musical picks, but it's for good reason (and I promise it's not only because I recently became obsessed with Homeland and have been feverishly catching up). There's been tons of new music hitting my ear drums, but unfortunately I am unable to share it with you quite yet.

If you've been following my Instagram or Twitter feeds lately you may have seen that I've been hanging with some of the raddest people on the planet. Though the details of our late night expeditions are better kept under wraps - until my inevitable "tell all" memoir is released of course - I can tell you there is some seriously delicious ear candy coming your way this year from artists like Five KnivesJoshua Scott Jones and Cassadee Pope.

Seriously. I am obsessed with some of the new music these artists have been putting together for their upcoming releases and I know you will be too. But until I can tell you more about that obsession, let me share with you another.

I mean, W.T.GIF? It seems like everywhere you turn these days a GIF of a drunk housewife, booty-popping popstar or a scene from your favorite show is making it's way around the internet.

And this is one trend I welcome with open arms! Okay, okay, so I might be taking it too far, having once had an entire text conversation with a friend using only GIFs of scenes from HBO's Girls and Britney Spears - you can imagine how that went. While thoroughly entertaining, our plans for the evening were quite confusing.

And maybe someday, I'll look back at this post and think "WTF," but for now I'm all "What the GIF?"!

In fact, I love them so much that - until it gets old - I'm going to countdown my fave music related GIFs every week! If there's one you think I MUST see, send it to me on Facebook or Twitter. So, what are my favorites this week?
