Wednesday Wrap Up: Is Adam Lambert a Queen?

A lot happening in the music world this week, but today's biggest story caused quite a stir on the net this morning. It was reported earlier today that Adam Lambert, the controversial vocalist who emerged from American Idol a few years ago, was coming to to be legendary rock band Queen's new frontman. On the heels of Lambert's new solo single and a sophomore album in the works, it seemed it couldn't be true. And later, Lambert confirmed it was in fact untrue. His quote had been used by a "sneaky" reporter to build a story. More on that story, as well as the Top 5 stories of the week, below.

5. Stream Jack White's "Machine Gun Silhouette", the b-side to his debut single "Love Interruption" here.

4. Lady Gaga announces dates to her upcoming World Tour, hoping to turn the attention away from Madonna. Read more.

3. Adam Lambert is NOT going to be Queen's new frontman, but he may perform with the group. Find out where here.

2. M.I.A. steals the spotlight from Madonna's over-the-top Super Bowl Half Time show performance by flipping off the camera. Read more about incident.

1. Saturday Night Live poked fun at Lana Del Rey's now infamous performance on the show while actually coming to her defense. Watch Kristen Wiig’s take on the singer below.

Artist To Watch: Brian Fuente

Very rarely can a vocalist take the stage in a crowded venue and immediately grab the attention of the entire room. Brian Fuente is a frontman with a ‘voice’ that has been known to turn heads since age nine, when he first picked up a guitar and taught himself to rock. The seasoned singer-songwriter hails from Ridgeland, Mississippi, a small town just outside of Jackson. The product of a guitar player and jazz vocalist, Fuente performed as a teen in between his mother's sets at local clubs. Growing up in a musical household he later found his way on the road playing his own shows at clubs and venues, where he developed a strong stage presence and diverse following.

In 2007, Fuente packed up his things and took the road to Nashville, hoping his talents would be well received in Music City. Not long after his arrival, he started his first Nashville-based rock group Newmatic and began honing his skills as a songwriter. Fuente's rich, raspy vocal contributed to the popularity of Newmatic and as the frontman for the band, Fuente was no stranger to the spotlight. In 2011, the singer auditioned for the hit TV reality competition The Voice. With the result of his audition coming to a television near you, he's been focusing on music full time. Late last year, Brian tapped into his southern roots, songwriting for a number of notable Nashville musicians and hit the studio with a new solo project that he’s preparing to share with the world in the coming months.

You can tune in Mondays this February to see Brian’s blind audition on NBC’s The Voice to see if his recognizable one turned the heads – or in this case, chairs – of some of the music industry’s most recognizable talents. And check out this video of Fuente's take on The Black Keys' "Tighten Up".

Wednesday Wrap Up: No Del-Rey About It

Ok, so as promised yesterday I am going to stop - er, try to stop - posting about the songstress who as of late has made the front page of Tragic Kingdom and taken up lots of space in your RSS Feed. So... I won't mention that her album hit number one more than 11 countries upon its digital release and I won't explain that critics are beginning to back track on their post-SNL tongue lashings. No, I refuse to do it.

Instead however, there's lots of other relevant news going on this week in music... right?
