Ciara Remembers

During her press time backstage at the BET Awards, Ciara, who will be opening for Britney Spears on her 2nd North American leg of The Circus Tour, was overcome when she remembers her time with Michael Jackson and speaks to why he was such an inspiration to her.

Beyonce Pays Tribute

When the BET Awards started on Sunday night, it was clear the focus would be on the recent death of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. Last night we brought you Michael's sister, Janet, as she gave gratitude to all the fans and outpouring of love and support. Today, we bring you the incredible performance from Beyonce, who sang Ave Maria and Sarah McLachlan's "Angel". It wasn't what "B" initially intended to perform, but switched it up after the horrific news broke on Thursday afternoon.

Janet's Statement

Janet Jackson made a surprising appearance at the BET Awards last night to speak on behalf of the family. It was a touching and moving moment for the awards show, which paid tribute to the late Michael Jackson in many ways. Idol Insider will be bringing special performances from the awards show all week, but in the meantime check out Janet's statement followed by host, Jamie Foxx and NeYo's tribute performance of "I'll Be There".

R.I.P.

As you all know by now, it has been a devastating week in the entertainment industry.

First, Ed McMahon passed away and then yesterday morning Farrah Fawcett lost her battle with cancer. But it was the news the the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, had suffered cardiac arrest on Thursday afternoon and died shortly after that left the world stunned. Jackson, who was scheduled to begin his last tour from London in two weeks, leaves behind his three children and millions of adoring fans, who have shown a huge outpouring of admiration and love for the legendary hit maker on blogs, MySpace, Facebook, and Twitter.

Fellow celebs also took a moment to reflect on the inspiring Michael Jackson. Britney Spears tweeted immediately after the news was confirmed, "He has been an inspiration throughout my entire life and I am devastated he is gone". Madonna also released a statement reacting to the news: "I can't stop crying over the sad news. I have always admired Michael Jackson. The world has lost one of the greats, but his music will live on forever! My heart goes out to his three children and other members of his family. God bless."

His music will live on as some of the greatest the pop genre has ever heard and his legend will continue to live on for eternity. And wherever Michael is, I hope he is looking down and able to see the impact he has made on the world. Michael, thank you for inspiring us with your tunes and for making music that touched so many. Your music is an inspiration and will continue to be throughout the rest of my life.

We wish the families of McMahon, Fawcett, and Jackson our best wishes and strength. And may they all rest in peace!

The "Diva" Video

It's confirmed - Kelly Clarkson's third single and video will be the incredible ballad "Already Gone". She sat down with MTV News to talk about the video shoot, calling it ultra-glam and completely opposite of her everyday life. She jokes that she and the video's director, Joseph Kahn ("When I Grow Up", "Toxic") call the video her "diva video". The video is rumored to be released in the coming month, so stay tuned. Idol Insider will bring you the first look when it finally arrives - can't wait!

Also, while Kelly was in Canada shooting the video, she stopped by Much Music's On Demand (MOD) and gave a hilarious interview. If you don't have 10 minutes to check it out, just watch the last few when she has to pick who she would and wouldn't hook up with. It's worth it. She also calls Perez Hilton out by saying, "I've been hit before and I didn't make a video crying about it". Loves it!

An Open Letter To Ben James

A very good friend of mine, Ben James, a brilliant man who run's the business side over at Gigbot (the world's coolest music website), decided a few months ago to take a wife. Now, whether it was Beyonce's "Single Ladies" that did the trick or not, he finally decided to "put a ring on it"! And now, to celebrate the last couple months of singlehood, he is making his way to the city of sin, Las Vegas. Unfortunately for me, I can't make it, but I wanted to send him off right! So Mr. James, this is for you:
Benny:
I wanted to be sure I sent a big "Yee Haw!" your way before the bachelor party debauchery begins! As you know, I would have loved to have been a part of it, but because I am not there does not mean I don't wish you all the best that Las Vegas has to offer and you know that we'll have plenty of time to celebrate the union of you crazy kids in the future.

But have no fear because I will certainly be there in spirit. So, remember that as you're sitting in your private box at PURE night club shaking your groove-thang with Paris Hilton, who's dancing on the table knocking over the thousands of dollars of comp'd booze, and while you're schmoozing and striking up business deals with the Maloof Brothers, and then dropping lines in the bathroom with Spencer Pratt, while Heidi Montag-Pratt is debuting her new "single" on the stage at the Pussycat Dolls Lounge next door. In fact, I'll even be there when you hit the course with Tiger Woods and Justin Timberlake the next day for 18 holes, and then again later when you and JT bring "sexy back" at the Planet Hollywood Hotel's pool. And of course don't count me out when you and Kobe decide to hit up Studio 54, but get side tracked when you have to break up the latest domestic violence battle between Rihanna and Chris Brown. Yes, I'll even be there for that.

So, just remember - although Vetrano won't "be there" to contribute to the weekend, I'll be there to relive every gorgeous moment of it, whichever version you decide to share...because what happens in Vegas, stays on the Idol Insider blog! :)

Have fun and congrats!

HOTNESS ALERT: 99 Times

You may recognize this hot little lady from her recurring role on The CW's One Tree Hill, but it's music that is her first love. After Kate Voegele's debut album failed to catch on in the main stream market, she got back in the studio to try again. The result? A polished, sexy new Kate - and we likey! Her first single from her sophomore LP, A Fine Mess, is already catching on and with this hot new video for "99 Times", featuring Dancing With The Stars star Derek Hough, it may just be what the Dr. Record Label ordered.

Our diagnosis? Watch two times and call us in the morning.

Much Much More

The Much Music Awards, hosted by The Jonas Brothers, aired last night live from Canada. On stage, Lady GaGa and Kelly Clarkson heated it up with their hits, but unfortunately the focus of last night's awards turned to what went down offstage instead.

Apparently, The Black Eyed Peas, who also performed last night, weren't too happy with what celebrity blogger, Perez Hilton, had been writing about their new album. The group confronted Perez at the rehearsals for the show and then continued to confront the blogger throughout last night's celebration. Based on Perez's site, and a terrible vlog he posted where he calls Fergie "Fugly" and Will.I.Am a whole slew of cheap insults, the confrontation escalated last night at an after party when Will.I.Am and his manager followed Perez to his car. It was then that Will's management punched Perez three times...allegedly.

Just goes to show, two media whores in the same room is a recipe for disaster! But now, back to the awards - check out Kelly's performance of "My Life Would Suck Without You" and GaGa's performance of her hits, which includes fireworks and a bra that shoots off sparks (the filming of this was not very good, so parts of it are hard to see, but we're waiting for a higher quality).

Let The Mind Control Era Begin

Christina Aguilera has been busy prepping for a return to the spotlight and from what we're hearing, she's coming back in a big way! Her new single, "Mind Control", will be dropping in just few short weeks on U.S. radio. The song is said to be electric, vocally crazy and will be in the same vein as Rihanna's "Umbrella". She also takes cues from GaGa, although she'd never admit to that, by mixing the song with delicious auto-tune parts to add to it's already incredible vocals.

Christopher Stewart is the man behind this hit in the making and with his resume including such hits for Mariah Carey ("Touch My Body" and Mariah's new single, "Obsessed"), Rihanna ("Umbrella" an
d "Good Girl Gone Bad"), Britney Spears ("Me Against The Music"), and Beyonce ("Single Ladies") it's likely that adding Christina to his list of hitmakers will make for the perfect combo. Keep your eyes here for all the latest news about Christina's new single and album.

How Could You Be So Heartless

Lady Gaga gave fans a little taste of what they might see on her upcoming tour with Kanye West last night, when she covered his hit, "Heartless". Check out the pop diva's version below and keep checking in for the tour dates, which should be announced soon.

T.M.T.H.

Before Adam Lambert was another controversial Idol contestant. However, Danny Noriega didn't have the pipes that Lambert does and so his time on the hit show was short lived. But, even though his time on live T.V. was short, his time in the spotlight continued. He appeared on Rosie O'Donnell's cruise as a featured performer and continued to make headlines across the nation. And not to be out done by Lambert, Danny has released his first single, "24/7", which is paired with a horrible music video. And while this song doesn't scream Top 40 smash, I am sure gay clubs all over the nation will be playing this single.

It's bad. But, now that you've been warned, check it out - it's definitely T.M.T.H.

Kanye To Share the Spotlight?

Kanye West is preparing to hit the road for a big U.S. tour, but he won't be traveling alone. It was announced last week that Lady GaGa and Kanye will share the bill for one long set as part of a national tour, probably because West wouldn't be able to sell out without some major support. And even though I can't stand Kanye's cocky attitude, I do appreciate what he's done for music.

As for Lady GaGa, the "lady" is unstoppable! She currently has three singles in the top 10 and is burning up radio stations everywhere. The Idol Insider has been wanting to bring you some Lady-inspired posts for months now, but everytime we sit down to start something, we can't find the words. The powerhouse that she is has single handedly saved the music industry and taken it from physical to digital. Her crazy beats and catchy phrasing makes for some pop deliciousness that we crave. And apparently so does everyone else. Her album,
The Fame, is full of inspiring tracks to help gear up for a party or turn up in the car with your windows rolled down. And, although there are the haters, who are becoming less and less by each hit single she releases, she has captured the hearts, and ears, of America. She is currently touring with The Pussycat Dolls on their world, Doll Domination, tour and then will embark on the tour this fall with Kanye.

We can't wait for dates to be announced so we can get our tickets to, what is sure to be, one of the hottest shows all year.
And to celebrate our first Lady GaGa post, check out her latest, steamy video for her U.S. single, "Love Game". It's very "Toxic"-Britney inspired.

Takin' Over "Paradiso"

As Idol Insider's favorite new troupe of ladies continue to tour the U.S. promoting their new single, "Patron Tequila", they made a stop at the NewNextNow Awards to perform with collaborator, Eve, for the first time ever on TV. The awards aired on Saturday night on Logo, but we have the full performance for you here. The girls, of course, killed it. It sure is nice to see them all share the spotlight. And watch with caution all, this song tends to get stuck in your head for days and days and days...right Angel?!

Also, the girls re-released their video for "Patron Tequila" on Monday. The updated video includes more club scenes and some more editing. This video is hot, hot, hot and shows off the girls' personalities a little bit, too. Check it out and "put your drinks up"!

20/20 Vision

Adam Lambert was on 20/20 last week to discuss his recent interview with Rolling Stone magazine. The interview, with Chris Connelly, touched on his run on Idol, growing up, and, of course, coming out. If you missed the interview, have no fear - check it out below, along with an exclusive interview with Lambert's brother that did not air on the original telecast.

Also, Adam recently won a Young Hollywood award for Artist of the Year, which was presented to him by Idol judge, Kara DioGuardi. This news made us wonder, can you even be nominated for an Artist of the Year award without an album? And, "Wait...who won Idol this year again?!?" Check out the award presentation and his acceptance speech below and let me know your thoughts on the Artist of the Year honor.

The Return of Zack Morris

I know this is a non-music related post, but it's nostalgic!

In his attempts to reunite the
Saved By The Bell cast, Jimmy Fallon had Mark Paul Gosselar on his show Monday night. Check out this hilarious interview where Gosselar stopped by in character of Zack Morris, high tops, tight rolled jeans, cell phone and all. Now, that's a blast from the past!

Gosselar also confirms that he and Elizabeth Berkley, Jesse Spano, will be in for the reunion, leaving just Tiffani Thiessen (Kelly) and Dustin Diamond (Screech) left to confirm their appearances. We sure can't wait to see Tiffani Thiessen's return to our television sets - I hope she wears her cheerleading skirt. Go Bayside!

Check out this clip from Monday night's show.

I've Had Some Coke

Kelly Clarkson is still in Australia promoting her new album, "All I Ever Wanted". At one of the interviews, she made a harmless comment that had a completely different meaning. It's hysterical and captures the reason we love her so much!

Check it out!

Three's Company

The season just ended and already Idol contestants are getting signed to record deals. It comes as no surprise that Kris Allen would be signed to a deal, since he won this year's competition, but it was confirmed this week that he will be joining Britney Spears, Ciara and fellow Idol, Jordin Sparks, on Jive Records. Kris announced his excitement in joining Jive's roster, as well as saying he can't wait to start work on his album, which will feature music much like what we heard from him on the show. Also, not surprisingly, Adam Lambert will be recording an album for release in the fall/early winter, which will feature a mixture of pop, glam rock, theatrics, and special guests. Lambert, who graces the cover of Rolling Stone this week, joins the artist roster on RCA, which also signed Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson after their Idol wins. And last, but not least, the most surprising announcement was that Alison Iraheta will join Kris Allen on Jive Records and will begin work on a record soon. Jive's Chairman and CEO, Barry Weiss, said in a statement that "it didn't matter where she ranked on Idol, we knew we wanted her to join our amazing crop of young talent at Jive." In fact, Alison is the only Season 8 contestant to have an official website already up and running. It looks like Jive will put in some extra time to foster longevity for the youngest Idol to make the Top 12.

Also, check out this interesting tidbit: Lambert, Allen, and Iraheta were the three that were put through together in Group 2 of the Top 36. Something special must have been in the water that night. No offers yet for Top 3 finalist, Danny Gokey, but that isn't really a surprise, seeing as he had the appeal of a younger version of Taylor Hicks. See ya on Broadway, Chokey Gokey!

"I'm A Little Bit Square"

As she promised, Tiffanie Anderson, officially announced her departure from Girlicious yesterday on her YouTube page. In the announcement, she explains that she was let go due to a change in the direction of the group - making the group less urban, which is why she was initially chosen. Less urban? So she was let go due to the color of her skin? I guess Chrystina is safe because she's only half "urban". And Tiffanie says she found out about the "new direction" and new label (??) at the airport. Really? Wonder how that all went down and I wish someone would have caught that moment for YouTube.

Tiffanie stayed calm throughout the video, which was the first time we've seen this side of her. However, she did not completely put to rest rumors of a feud with fellow member, Natalie Mejia. Rumors were swirling for a couple months of a boiling feud between the two girls, which many said was the reason for the split. Mejia has recently been linked to woman-beater, Chris Brown, although Brown's reps deny the connection.

Check out Anderson's official announcement/apology to fans/final goodbye here and let me know your thoughts on the news now that it's official. And of course, we will keep you updated on all the latest Girlicous news, as it becomes available. We're dying to she/read Robin's response to Tiff's video, although she might not make one.

Jordin Sparks' "Battlefield"

Jordin Sparks, winner of American Idol season 6, is prepping the release of her sophomore album, Battlefield. The album artwork (above) was recently released and her single of the same name has already been burning up the airwaves and iTunes charts. She is working with some of today's top producers and writers for the follow up to her mega-successful debut album. Battlefield will be in stores and on iTunes on July 21st, but in the meantime we are pleased to bring you the debut video of the album's first single, "Battlefield", as well as a clip of Jordin working in the studio on 4 other tracks. "Vertigo" sounds like a hot track, we can't wait to hear the rest. Enjoy!

Circus Continues

Britney Spears has brought fans her "Circus" worldwide for the majority of 2009. The Queen of Pop, who has been in London for the past few days, added some new remixes and songs to her set, which initially launched in the U.S.. The most noticeable change is the addition of "Gimme More", which was unbelievably absent from her U.S. tour dates.

And now, The Circus Tour, which has become the highest grossing in the United States in 2009, has been extended! In September, Britney will make her back to the U.S. for a second leg of the tour, then she will take over Australia for the first time in November. Tickets for the second American leg of the tour go on sale June 19th at Ticketmaster. We might be making another trip....I'll keep you posted.

We hope that Jive is preparing a DVD version of the tour to come out by the year's end. With the shows nonstop action, you can't catch it all the first time around.
For those who were unable to attend the show when it stopped in your hometown, here's the full length opening sequence featuring fellow blogger, Perez Hilton.

It's No Surprise

American Idol runner up, Adam Lambert, continues to take the spotlight off this year's winner, Kris Allen, as he graces the cover of Rolling Stone this week. The new issue promises to feature "The Liberation of Adam Lambert", which apparently means focusing on his sexuality, rather than his career. And it comes as no surprise, at least to the majority of the population, when Adam Lambert announced in the article his sexual preference, saying "I don't think it should be a surprise for anyone to hear that I'm gay". Lambert says he's proud of who he is, but that he's "trying to be a singer, not a civil right leader".

In the article, Lambert also opens up about his childhood, his experimentation with drugs, and his crush on fellow
Idol contestant, Kris Allen, with whom he shared a room with during the show. "They put me with the cute guy. Distracting! He's the one guy I found attractive in the whole group on the show: nice, nonchalant, pretty, and totally my type - except that he has a wife. I mean he's open minded and liberal, but he's definitely 100% straight", says Lambert. Uh, duh! And as for the drugs, he started smoking pot in Germany, when he was on the European tour of "Hair". It was there when he first dyed his hair black and tried Ecstasy, but says his limits are with cocaine because "that drug is such a reflection of the lack of self-esteem and control people have over their lives."

So, there you have it; confirmation of what was already very obvious. And although Lambert's announcement came as no shock, it is clear that he is changing the face of
Idol as we once knew it. Never before, this close after a finale, has so much been revealed about a contestant in regards to sexuality and drugs. Think Jim Verraros, Jessica Sierra, Nikki McKibbon, and, of course, Clay Aiken.

You can pick up your copy of the "Wild Idol" issue of
Rolling Stone on newsstands this Friday.

JoBro Dissed by YouTube

Last week the Idol Insider brought you a clip of the oldest Jonas Brother, Joe, doing his best impression of Beyonce's "Single Ladies". Well, if you didn't get a chance to see it, you likely never will. After the video became knowledge of those running the popular video clip website, YouTube suspended the JoBro's profile. Beyonce's label, SonyBMG, were not pleased that the Hollywood Records artist was using music in his video without receiving the proper permissions to do so. So, sorry ladies, I guess you'll have to keep waiting to see Joe Jonas running around in high heels. Well, at least until his drag show opens in Vegas, but we give it a few years before he goes that route.

It's Confirmed!

We reported earlier this week that Tiffanie from, the Robin Antin created girl group, Girlicious was rumored to to have been ousted.

Now, after many cryptic messages via the girls' Twitter accounts, Robin Antin confirmed that the Girlicious girls are moving on without Tiffanie Anderson. On Antin's twitter this morning, she announced, "Nic, Nat, and Chrys r getting ready to record a new single, new video, & tour the world". Tiff's name was absent from the list and then to follow it up, the group's
MySpace account has been updated to reflect the three remaining members, including cropping Tiffanie out of the promotional photos that once featured all four girls (left).

No reason has been confirmed for Anderson's split from the group, but she promised her followers on Twitter that she'd reveal all soon.

Sounds juicy! We'll keep you updated, but in the meantime, here's a tribute of Tiffanie's journey with Girlicious!

Single Ladies, You Asked For It

Joe Jonas, of the Jonas Brothers, posted himself dancing to Beyonce's "Single Ladies" on YouTube, which is quite disturbing to be honest. We just don't buy that this is his first time dancing around in a catsuit and heels. Thoughts from the peanut gallery?

Kelly Clarkson In A Bubble

Our favorite bubbly Idol, Kelly Clarkson, appeared on an Australian game show called "GNW" in which she had to answer questions in a bubble. It was quite hilarious and showed off the adorable "cool beans" personality we all fell in love with so many years ago. We also have a clip of her singing a line from Whitney Houston's "Run To You" on the show, which is incredible.

Enjoy!

Trouble In Paradiso?

The highly anticipated video for The Paradiso Girls' debut single, "Patron Tequila" has finally arrived and it's hot, hot, hot! Chelsea, Aria, Lauren, Shar, and Kelly bring down the house with Eve and Lil' Jon. This video definitely leaves us wanting more; they're definitely on their way to taking over the void that The Pussycat Dolls will leave in the hearts of many when they take their final bow - we're predicting by end of 2009.

And in other Robin Antin-related news, it looks like Tiffanie from Girlicious may have seen her final days in the group. Based on some internet rumors and recent tweets on Tiffanie's Twitter account, Chrystina, Nichole, and Natalie may be moving on without her for undisclosed reasons. It's too bad, but as we learned with fellow girl group, Danity Kane, relaity shows don't equal longevity. And if I remember Tiffanie's overly-cocky attitude in the CW series, The Pussycat Dolls Present Girlicious, I could have called her exit back then.

But on to bigger and better, check out the steaming hot video, "Patron Tequlia" now:

Nicole Says "Hush, Hush" to Other Dolls

As we previously reported, The Pussycat Dolls' new single, "Hush, Hush; Hush, Hush", was to be released listing The Dolls and Featuring Nicole Scherzinger. However, after much internet chatter, the featuring line was removed and they released their 6th single and video from their sophomore album, Doll Domination. Check out the video that definitely features Nicole Scherzinger, as well as includes cameos from Carmen Electra and blogger, Perez Hilton.
