Wedding Day
And celebration is definitely in order for Ms. Spears, who's overseas with her "Circus" tour. Her album, "Circus, continues to impress on the charts and she's not showing any signs of slowing. To follow up the massive success of her 3rd single, "If You Seek Amy", the Queen of Pop is releasing the bonus track from the album as her 4th single from the album. "Radar" will include a full promotional package, including radio play and a hot video. The single cover artwork is below; what are your thoughts?

Happy Memorial Day
And even though she's been out of the public eye, minus her recent run in with the paps and a, now famous, homeless woman, she stopped by the National Memorial Day Concert to prove she still has the pipes that won her the votes to send her into the finale on Idol a few years ago. Kris Allen Is An American Idol
Congratulations to Kris Allen, our newest American Idol, on his surprising win last night! Both Kris and Adam brought some real talent to the long running reality series and both deserved to be there last night. And while Allen won the title, both Kris and Adam have released the single, "No Boundaries" to iTunes today (at press time Lambert was beating Kris on the top downloads chart), showcasing that both are embarking on some successful careers. But, first let's revisit last night's show. Allen sang with Keith Urban, showcasing a cool country vibe that we hadn't seen from him, even during country week. Lambert sang with KISS, which was one of the best performances of the night, and the two sang together, "We Are The Champions", with Queen. Everyone turned out from Rod Stewart to Queen Latifah. Steve Martin even gave an unfortunate performance on the banjo while Megan joy and Michael Sarver butchered their way through it. It was definitely a finale that Idol lovers won't soon forget. We'll be bringing you video of our favorite moments over the next week, so keep it here.
And for the winner, Kris Allen, who will embark on a US tour with the other Top 9, he's got a stop to make first. Check it out below.

Idol Finale Recap
As the final Idol hopefuls took the stage last night, American knew they were in for a treat when Adam Lambert and Kris Allen faced off in one of the best finales in the history of the show. Kris had won the coin toss and he chose to go last, which is always a safer bet.Round One: Adam Lambert, predictably, sang "Mad World", which was his best performance on the season. But unfortunately it fell a little short in comparison to the first go at the song, leaving Kris to pick up the pieces with his piano accompanied choice of "Ain't No Sunshine". Kris' smooth vocal and new arrangement left me, and Simon, giving the round to him.
Round Two: Idol creator, Simon Fuller, chose some oldies, but goodies for the contestants. First, Adam gave what seemed to be the best performance by any contestant of the season with his original take on "A Change Is Gonna Come". He killed it and basically there was no following that as Kris took on Marvin Gaye's classic, "What's Goin' On". The song was arranged well, but unfortunately I agreed with Simon that it was too "small" for the finale setting. Round two goes to Adam!
Round Three: Both contestants sang the Kara DioGaurdi penned coronation song, "No Boundaries" which really didn't fit either artist very well. Adam's version was a little pitchy and he didn't really perform it, as he has all season - maybe cause he had just learned the song days before the finale? And just when I thought Kris had it in the bag, he performed. His version was even worse than Lambert's, bad notes, forgotten lyrics, and times where the key was completely off. And the Idol producers did a piss-poor job at hiding the teleprompter showing the lyrics as they sang, which made Kris' lyrical mis-step even less forgivable. The judges went easy on both and asked America to vote based on the whole season. Unfortunately, based on who sucked less, I give the round to Lambert.
To close the show, that was already running long, they threw it to Carrie Underwood who got cut off in the middle of singing, "Home Sweet Home". Check out the front half of the song below, for those whose DVR's might have missed it.
And finally, I think both are very talented and will both have successful careers in their genres, so it's a tough call as to who will win. Lambert has been getting some poor media attention and I have a feeling Gokey's votes will go to Kris, making him almost unbeatable. I really don't think it would be an"upset" either way - I guess we'll wait and see.
It's been a fun season folks and I look forward to bringing you the news from these two talented guys as they continue their journey to super-stardom. Now, grab a cold beverage, pop some popcorn, and enjoy the finale!

TONIGHT: Idol Finale
Tonight, watch as underdog, Kris Allen, takes on the Season 8 front runner, Adam Lambert (aka Glambert) in the Idol showdown. Tonight's episode will pit the two against each other, both performing three songs. The first round will feature the contestants favorite performances of the season. My guess is Kris will go with last week's "Heartless", while Lambert will likely choose "Mad World". The second song choice will be that of ex-Idol producer, Simon Fuller. In the past this song choice was that of Clive Davis', but I guess they've opted out of that this year. Then, finally, the contestants will sing the winner's single, "This Is How I Want To Be", written by judge, Kara DioGuardi. Both Lambert and Allen will be able to arrange the song as they choose in order to show their "artistry", as Kara so loves to say, but will not be able to use instruments.
Then, tomorrow's results show, promises to be a huge television event. Not only will one of the contestants become the new American Idol, but the show will feature a plethora of celebrity performances. The two-hour, live event will feature performances by Lionel Ritchie, Carlos Santana, Queen Latifah, Keith Urban, Cyndi Lauper, Jason Mraz and the Black Eyes Peas. Carrie Underwood, who will perform her single recorded for this season's cast off single, "Home Sweet Home", and David Cook have been confirmed to appear, but it is rumored that the producers are trying to get all the previous winners to show. Also rumored is an appearance by David Bowie and/or KISS, but no word as to if this will happen. The idea is that every Idol hopeful will get a chance to perform with one of these stars. Those that have been confirmed are: Kris Allen with Keith Urban, Matt Giraud with Jason Mraz, Alison Iraheta with Cyndi Lauper and the KISS-Bowie rumor is for Lambert's duet partner. No word on the rest of the Top 10, although they will all appear on the show. The entertainment driven show, Extra, is reporting the Britney Spears may make a surprise appearance, but the Spears camp has denied the claims. I guess we'll just have to watch and see...
Keep your eyes peeled here for all the latest Idol-finale news!
UPDATE: I just saw the twitter message from Adam Leber, Britney's manager, who says, "No Idol for Brit. She is on vacation. Sorry guys". Although it seems the rumors have been put to rest, chatter continues that the Queen of Pop may appear to perform her new single, "Radar".
UPDATE #2: Danny "Jokey" Gokey has been confirmed to perform his duet with Lionel Richie. Sounds like a snooze fest to us...
UPDATE #3: Santana will be performing a song with the entire Top 13, no word on the song choice.
Update #4: "No Boundaries" is the name of the coronation song written by Kara, not "This Is How I Want To Be", as previously reported.
Update #5: Steve Martin will take the Idol stage tomorrow night with his banjo to play a song from his new album. Yes, Steve Martin, it sounds like a total snooze fest.
Update #6 - The Top 13 will perform "Smooth" with Santana and "So What" by P!nk on the results show.

EXCLUSIVE: Paradiso Girls In Denver
After the show, I had a chance to chat it up with the girls before they had to head back to their hotel to prepare for their interview with Mix Terminal in the morning. The Idol Insider was definitely "on Patron Tequila, drunk off margaritas", so he had no problem cozying up to the beauties. Shar and I even got down on some of the "Patron" lyrics, while taking a twirl on Blake Street, in front of Club Beta. All of the girls were so full of energy and proved they each brought something special to the group. I am looking forward to many more run ins with them in the future, as they are quickly becoming an Idol Insider favorite! Check out their website to find out how you, too, can catch them on tour when they stop in your town; and be sure to tell them the Idol Insider sent you!
Some of the videos of their Denver performances are below, but check out my Facebook page for more footage and photos of the girls as they take over Denver! And don't forget to holler at the girls in the comment section to let them know how much you adore them!
This won't be the last you hear of them, as the Idol Insider will bring you the premiere of their first music video, news, and album reviews.

Idol Update
So, as a quick update, I am happy to announce that my choices for the finale, Kris Allen and Adam Lambert, will face off next week for the chance to be the new American Idol! It's a tough call because Adam has been the fave all season, but Ryan announced that the two finalists were only 1 million votes apart in a 88 million vote night. And with Gokey out of the race, Kris could become quite unbeatable, since most of the Gokey support will likely go to Allen. It's definitely going to be a good show and will have me on the edge of my seat.
And last night also offered a fantastic performance from Season 6 winner, Jordin Sparks, who performed her new single, "Battlefield", with co-writer, Ryan Tedder. Jordin, who always has had a couple extra pounds, looked off the hook last night and we're definitely watching little Sparks grow up right before our eyes into a certified diva. If you missed the performance, we've got it for you below - and check out that fierce ending look Jordin flashes the camera. We also are posting Katy Perry's performance of "Waking Up In Vegas", which was alright, but we love that she opened it showing off her Elvis-esque cape with the name "Adam Lambert" embroidered on the back. Guess we know who's she's rooting for...

"I'm on Patron Tequila, I'm drunk on Margaritas"
Hey kids, exciting news! Tonight I get to watch The Paradiso Girls take the stage at Beta in Denver to kick off their first club tour. Denver is their first stop and I predict it's only going to explode from here. Their first single, "Patron Tequila" is already becoming a cult favorite and is sure to be summer hit and huge club banger! The single is available on iTunes now, so if you don't have it, you should. The girls are the newest bunch of beauties hand picked by the one and only, Robin Antin, who created The Pussycat Dolls and Girlicious. If you watched the reality series, The Pussycat Dolls Present Girlicious, on The CW a couple years ago, you might remember Chelsea Korka. Chelsea was let go before the finale, but it seems her run with Antin was not over. Korka will now be seen lending her fierce vocals and spicy flare to The Paradiso Girls. We're hoping for a meet and greet tonight, and if it happens, we'll bring you all the details tomorrow. Until then, let me hear ya: "Who wanna get tore up tonight, who wanna get drunk?" I do!
Check out their single here and then go get it on iTunes!

Results Show Spectacular!
I wouldn't have predicted this, but Paula Abdul performance was the highlight of the show. Her comeback performance screamed that she's ready to be back on top and she was twirling, flipping, and dancing her butt off to prove just that.
Then, No Doubt, performed one of their biggest hits, "Just A Girl", which seemed a little off, but hey they've been out of the scene for a while, so they're a little rusty. After the performance Gwen announced that while they haven't released a new album yet to tour, they are going to be working on a new No Doubt album during their nationwide tour that kicks off next week in Las Vegas.
And finally, Chris Daughtry and the rest of his band his the stage to debut their new single, "No Surprise", which is available now on iTunes and is already becoming an Idol Insider fave.

Gracin is currently working on new music, posted a new song, "Enough", on his MySpace and is shopping for a new label.

Idol Update
On this week's rock-themed show, not only will the contestants be performing a solo song, they will also team up with one of the other contestants for a "rocking" duet. This will either be incredibly great or go horribly wrong; either way it will make for some great TV. It will also, likely, have an effect on the voting, seeing as one set (whoever is teamed with Lambert) of contestants might do much better than another set - helping boost the final votes. Also, ex-Idol producer, Nigel Lythgoe, revealed that most of the time the bottom 3 is not revealed to America in the correct order. The producers are given the go ahead to put them in any order they want to create a boost in ratings. So, this confirms our theory that Adam Lambert was not in the bottom 2 last week, but they are working to boost his votes to crown him the winner. That seems bullish to us!
And, lastly, since the contestants that the Vote For The Worsters keep trying to keep around are getting cut (Megan Joy, Lil Rounds, Matt Giraud), they have now turned their attention to Danny, who was once a front runner, as the worst hopeful left standing. Seems like they haven't thought that one through.

Idol Update

As we know, next week's theme is Rock Week, which should suit most of the contestants left, and Slash will be the guest mentor. Does he actually talk??? I guess, we'll see. But the really exciting news we have for you is not about the contestants performances, but, instead, the results show. Not only will No Doubt be performing their new single, "Stand And Deliver", but past Idol contestant, Chris Daughtry, will also be debuting his band's new single from their sophomore album. We can't wait - it promises to be a great show.
And the new Idol songs don't stop there. Jordin Sparks, season 6 winner, will debut her new single, "Battlefield", on the Top 3 results show along with Katy Perry, who will sing her new single, "Waking Up In Vegas".
