Following her win on NBC's hit series The Voice and fronting the pop-rock band Hey Monday, Cassadee Pope is preparing her place in country music. With a new single, album on the way and summer tour with Rascal Flatts, she's off to a great start.

Move over Big & Rich. Party's over Gretchen Wilson.
There's a new group of red-red-red-red-rednecks taking over the genre. Although it seems overnight, the rising fame of Blake Shelton and his wife Miranda Lambert has been a steady climb. However, in the recent months the pair have lent their powerhouse celebrity to some of their country-fried friends creating a new kind of country clique. In Shelton's latest video for "Boys 'Round Here," the singer parties with a few of the folks that have joined their posse including country-cutie RaeLynn and ladies from Miranda's side project the Pistol Annies. Also joining the crew (not featured), pop diva Kelly Clarkson who's marrying Blake's manager and Reba McEntire, who will soon be playing mother-in-law to Clarkson. This is one group of down-home honkies that sure know how to make country cool!
You can watch Blake's video below to see how he and his redneck round up party, followed by the premiere of the Pistol Annie's latest "Hush Hush."
They say what comes around, goes around. And by "they," I'm sure you know I mean Justin Timberlake. The debut of Tim McGraw's new video for "Highway Don't Care" seems to prove that popular lyric's sentiment.
You probably remember it wasn't long ago that the young blonde country phenomenon known as Taylor Swift burst upon the music scene with her first single "Tim McGraw." Now, with the addition of Keith Urban, the singer teamed up with the man she paid homage to years ago.
The single off McGraw's Two Lanes of Freedom record has been racing up the country charts and now, with the addition of a dramatic new video the single will likely land it's place on McGraw's growing list of greatest hits.
Where most artists wear their heart on their sleeve, Elise Davis wears hers in her emotionally-packed voice. The Little Rock native is making waves in Nashville's music scene after winning American Songwriter's "The Pub Contest" -- a hefty publishing deal with HoriPro Entertainment -- which was judged by artists like Holly Williams and Hunter Hayes earlier this month. The year-long deal will be the first venture into co-writing for the solo-singer, who has written all of her previous efforts, and was honored to have been selected for the opportunity.
Often drawing comparisons to the likes of Emmylou Harris and Lucinda Williams, Davis' music has captured the attention of more than just those invested in the contest. Her voice, so rich and mature, audiences are shocked to learn the singer is only 24 years young. Not surprising though, once you learn it was at age 12 that the singer penned her first song after an argument with her parents over a rock concert she wanted to attend. While she may have lost that battle, the experience gave her a new passion and love of songwriting.
Four records later, -- yes, she's already got a catalog bigger than most artists have their entire career -- Davis is preparing for the release of her new EP. The compilation, titled Big Ol' Dreams will include two tracks from previous releases, including a newly mixed version of her standout track "Make the Kill," and packaged with three new songs, including the EP's first single "Right Where We Should Be."
Early this week, I sat down with the singer to learn more of her story in a Nashville coffee shop (Fido, for those of you local) and was impressed by her laid-back yet confident demeanor. She's certain in what she says when speaking of her tunes, but not in an arrogant way. She's proud of the masterpieces she creates and hopes others will gravitate towards her sometimes daring, but relatable lyrics.
When asked about the new EP, she lit up saying, "It's time! I've put out music almost every year and it's been a while since Cheap Date, I want people to know where I'm at now." A common thread through all of her musical projects, always honest and true to where the singer is in her life, the title and autobiographical lyrics of the first single of the new project illustrate that.
Check out the singer's video for her new single "Right Where We Should Be," then pick up more of her music on iTunes.
Big Ol' Dreams is available for purchase on iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody and streaming on Spotify now.
The sun is shining and the allergies are in full swing, which can only mean one thing: it's May! I realize my updates have been few and far between lately, but I promise it's not because I don't love you all (that only applies to some of you).
The sun is shining, flowers are a bloom and there's a new project being cooked up at V for Vetrano HQ (details coming soon). But I couldn't let you go any longer without serving up another helping of What The GIF? With the nice weather, and my new project in full swing, I'm ready to get back into the routine of things here. Well until 5 o'clock because when the weather gets nice, Vetrano hits the deck (the patio deck, that is)!
Now that we're caught up, let's dive right in to what's happening in the "real" world, shall we? Here's the top ten biggest headlines in my (dysfunctional) world.

Whew! I think that about covers it... for now. Hope that helped get you through this miserable Hump Day (Wednesdays should just become national holidays, right?). I know I said something earlier about waiting until 5 o'clock to start drinking, but it's 80 degrees here in Nashville and I can practically hear the condensation from my beer glass calling my name. So until next time...
